Gigabit Ethernet Server Adapters from SysKonnect

C²I² Press Release

1999-07-29

SysKonnect, a specialist for strategic server links, is to leverage its extensive experience in the field of high-performance server network cards to support Gigabit Ethernet technology.

Europe's leader in FDDI network cards (IDC 1997), SysKonnect is represented in South Africa by high-speed, mission-critical networking specialist, C²I² Systems.

According to C²I² Systems managing director, Richard Young, SysKonnect's strategic commitment will begin to bear fruit in the form of a new family of Gigabit Ethernet server adapters.

He says these will have excellent capabilities with regard to fault tolerance and maximum bus performance. Dual-port versions will allow redundant links, thus making the same outstanding level of fault tolerance available for Gigabit Ethernet as FDDI backbone technology enjoys today.

By supporting the 64-bit/66 MHz PCI bus architecture, these adapters will make ideal use of the bus bandwidth of modern server systems – which is up to four times higher than in 32-bit/33 MHz systems.

This will make the upcoming family of SysKonnect Gigabit Ethernet adapters the devices of choice for the highly critical area of connectivity to high-availability server systems, says Young.

SysKonnect’s its membership of the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance emphasises its commitment to providing standard-compliant solutions.
